SYNOPSIS

The Earth. We hear a narrator speaking about change. About the feeling we all know too well: that nothing will ever be the way it was again.

The Earth explodes. Someone’s world maybe.Everyone’s world explodes sometimes. But it always leads you to a new place.

Els awakens in this place under a dead tree, panicked, with the sun burning brightly in her eyes. She finds herself on a sandy plain, with a giant crawling tree in the middle. Between the panic search for meaning she hears something safe, something beautiful. In the distance there is something that draws her attention: a hill split open in the middle, with a great opening glowing with light. It hypnotizes her. A thousand sounds call out to her, and her breathing slows to the rhythm of peace. It's the paradise. The panic has no more place, it is clear that she must go there.

She starts running with all her excitement and enthusiasm, but suddenly, she bumps into a huge, powerful, and terrifying monster. The monster is doing an aggressive hard dance. While the monster tries to communicate with her through his dance, Els feels fear from the monster and starts to run away in a fuss.

At that moment; the emotions Els didn’t feel for years began to appear and come closer to her than ever. The monster appears in front of her eyes, when she closes her eyes. She still tries to avoid the monster. The time flows no more like how she lived back on Earth. The pain rises in her body.

When she opens her eyes again, a bright sword shimmers to her heart. Els takes the heavy sword like if it was her destiny and walks back toward the crawling tree where the monster seems to live. The monster dances, large sweeping movements. But she pays it no attention; she chooses to reply with anger and rage. She raises the sword and strikes it down.

Els gasps for breath, limping through the dunes. The monster was wounded, but the heavy sword that was handled with rage, caused a deeper wound in Els. She lies down in a hollow and begins to cry uncontrollably.

After crying so much that there are no more tears left, hears Els another quiet sobbing. She raises her head with attention, the crying is coming from the monster. She walks toward it, and for the first time she feels neither fear nor anger, but sorrow and regret for what she has done.

She cares for the monster. The monster begins its movements again. This time Els imitates them. Together they run toward the sandy plain and begin a dance around the crawling tree.  A dance of connection. Time seems to move again. It melts together with the surroundings and the red setting sun. It feels like paradise, while the glittery gate for the paradise is still far away from her.

Within the dance, the monster disappears. Paradise is still there, but for the first time Els notices the beautiful mountain landscape on the horizon. She looks at paradise, at the tree and the monster, and then toward the mountains.

She takes a deep breath and walks toward the mountains on the horizon.
